SORTIR DU CONFLIT, pistes pour créer un imaginaire féministe dans nos fictions.
(ESCAPING CONFLICT: ways to create a feminist imagination in our fiction.) - Talk in French
How can we write fiction as feminists? How can we reinvent the codes of serial and cinematic narratives to escape the patriarchal patterns that have taught us that only conflict can give rise to a story? Drawing on Ursula K. Le Guin's The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, the author of books such as Sororité and Le Regard Féminin will explore ways to create works that break away from dominant narrative structures, using examples from recent films and series. I will also draw on my experience as a screenwriter and director of the series Split, in which I attempted to put this departure from conflict into practice at the heart of the narrative, but also in the practice of image-making.
French journalist, author and film critic specialising in representations of gender and sexuality in cinema and television series.
