How can we move beyond hegemonic narrative forms rooted in linearity, causality and conflict, structures that have historically dominated cinema and the social sciences? Drawing inspiration from sensory ethnography, decolonial cinema and anthropological criticism to invent and recognise alternative modes of narration, stemming from diverse ways of being in the world. To think about constructions of the world in the making, where unruly narratives become acts of resistance, both epistemic and social. This is what these Encounters offer through presentations, screenings, masterclasses, performances, workshops, and even a film concert, in various venues in Marseille. And it's all free.
