PERFORMANCE
RUINSSSSS

Live audiovisual performance that uses analogue and video synthesis as a starting point to explore both the visual and tactile aspects of structures that are built, destroyed, rebuilt, and then rebuilt again. From the ancient ruins of Rome to the ruins that are rapidly accumulating in our present, this performance seeks to convey facts in the form of collective feeling with the aim of building a new path for the future.
American filmmaker and programmer currently in residence at the Villa Medici. His work combines psychedelia and ethnography. He has exhibited at Documenta 14, the Centre Pompidou, MoMA, Tate Modern, and film festivals in Rotterdam, Venice, Locarno, and elsewhere. His latest film, Direct Action (co-directed with Guillaume Cailleau), won the Best Film Award (Encounters) and a Special Jury Mention at the Berlinale, as well as the Grand Prix at Cinéma du Réel.
